Description

Join me for a stunning 2-day ascent of the most iconic mountain in all of the Alps!

We will be heading up to the summit of the Matterhorn, of course. Starting in Zermatt, we will meet up and take the lifts to Schwarzsee.

From here it is a brief hike to the Hörnlihut, where we will go over a few things for the next day and turn in early.

Waking up early in the morning, we will begin scrambling as soon as we leave the hut. We will continue making our way up doing a mix of climbing and scrambling as we traverse the Hörnliridge.

After about four or five hours we will make it to the summit of the mountain. After taking a some time to enjoy the top, we will then head back down, first to the Hörnlihut and then down to the valley floor.

The whole descent takes about six hours.

About the guide

 

Born in the Austrian Alps, the connection to the mountains was there from early on. Started skiing as a 3 year old kid, bit later climbing and mountaineering stepped in my live. Skiing and climbing all over the Alps and abroad became a huge part of my life.

 

One of my favorite places in the Alps are the mountains around Chamonix and Zermatt. Since graduating as a fully-certified Mountain guide, I’ve been able to share my passion for skiing and climbing with my guests. When I’m not guiding I try to push my personal limits in climbing and mountaineering. Looking forward reaching summits together.
